Yes there is…but most are pirate, so I will take them to my grave…arrgggh. But what I will tell you is there are some dang fun fire roads around the area. Moody Hill, particularly, is one of the funnest. You can anticipate high speeds, rocky areas, natural berms and the occasional 4×4 or moto. Oh yah…it’s also a fun place to ride moto. You can kind of shuttle it if you have a 4×4 with a little clearance. Here’s a link that has a bit more.

It’s that time of the year when the air gets colder, the snow starts to fall, and the early season suspects open with a run or two providing us with a tease for the upcoming season. We all start to look forward to the opening day of our favorite mountain resort. Listed below are all of Colorado’s Resorts reported opening days.

One of the best kept secretes of Northern Colorado’s front range is the year-round riding. Especially Horsetooth Mountain Park and Lory State Park…both area’s have a sort-of sandy base with crushed rock which equal’s “hero dirt” when wet. Both area’s are about 10 minutes to the west of Fort Collins. With dry weather you can take advantage of all trails in the area, which link rides from Loveland to North Fort Collins. You can go from Devil’s Backbone to Horsetooth via Blue Sky. Check out the links below for area info.

If you need a break from peddling than you can wipe the cobwebs of your moto and hit the moto tracks. VDR has a variety of riding and they offer a winter Hare Scramble Series. Check out VDRMX.com for further info. You can also hit Watkins, IMI Motorsports, Thunder Valley and Johnstown. I’m not to familiar with these area but I know they are open all winter and they all are an hour or less from Fort Collins.

So there’s no excuse to get out and tear it up…
